Surveyors Fees
 | Surveyor fees are paid for by the
boat buyer and the report remains the exclusive property of the boat
buyer. We will not share the final typed report with anyone without the
buyers explicate consent. Our fees are fixed and as follows: |
| Our survey fee is based on the LOA
(Length Over All ) of the vessel. |
| Our fee is $16.00 per foot
for boats up to 39 feet. Multiply
$16 x Vessel LOA and that will equal the total cost of our survey in the
Metro NY area. ( $368 for all boats under 23 feet). This rate applies to Condition and Valuation Surveys,
Finance Surveys, Purchase Surveys and Insurance Surveys. These are all
the same survey, required by banks, insurance companies and finance
companies and are all the same price. Appraisal surveys may be
somewhat less expensive but can not be used for insurance or finance
purposes. |
| Our fee is $19.00 per foot
for boats over 40 feet. Multiply $19 x Vessel LOA and that will equal the total cost of our survey in the
Metro NY area. This rate applies to Condition and Valuation Surveys,
Finance Surveys, Purchase Surveys and Insurance Surveys. These are all
the same survey, required by banks, insurance companies and finance
companies and are all the same price. Appraisal surveys may be
somewhat less expensive but can not be used for insurance or finance
purposes. |
| A second trip is bill at a flat
rate of $150.00. Second trips are scheduled should we not be able to
complete the entire survey through no fault of our own. For example, if a
sea trial was scheduled and could not be performed we charge only the $100
fee to return another day and perform the sea trial. Often in late
winter or early spring a boat can not be launched for a sea trial and two
visits may be required. One out of water and another in water after
the vessel is commissioned. |
| Compression tests are $125.00 per
each engine for outboard engines. |
| Compression tests are $175.00
per each engine for inboard engines. |
| Laboratory analysis of
engine oil or transmission lubricant is billed at a flat rate of $75.00 per
each engine or each transmission analysis. |
| Our hourly rate is $110.00 per
hour. Hourly rates apply for specialized services, such as consultations.
Surveys are generally not billed at an hourly rate but at a fixed rate as
indicated above. |
| Court time time, or the time spent in court is billed at a higher rate
than our hourly rate. |
